Starting in the New Year the price of sendin mail in Canada is going up.
Canada Post says starting on January 14th, the cost for an individual stamp on a letter sent within Canada will go up a nickel, to a $1.05. Meantime, parcels (depending on their size) will cost an additional dime to 35 cents.
For stamps on envelopes destined for the United States, that'll be an additional seven-to-twenty cents and overseas mail will cost an extra 15 to 20 cents.
Canada Post says the increases should generate about $26-million dollars in additional revenues for the Crown corporation.
