While the cities of Montreal and St. Lambert work on solutions to the concert noise problem from Parc Jean-Drapeau, you will now be able to see just how loud it really is.
They've installed three sound-level monitoring stations in the area: at Parc Jean-Drapeau, near Habitat 67 and at the border of St. Lambert.
They'll post real-time readings to an interactive map on the websites of Ville-Marie and St. Lambert as well as at webmonitoring.01db.com. There will also be recorded readings between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight.
The information will allow the cities to determine a maximum ceiling for authorized decibels for next year and come up with the best technology to mitigate the noise.
