Police in Toronto, a city still reeling from a deadly vehicle attack in April, have stepped up security in the heart of downtown Thursday in anticipation of another one.
CJAD 800's sister station in Toronto, Newstalk 1010, has obtained an internal police memo suggesting the extra security in the vicinity of the CN Tower has to do with 'credible information' suggesting another vehicle ramming attack was being planned for sometime on Thursday.
Officials aren't saying anything publicly about that threat, or the contents of the memo, but they are saying the area around the CN Tower remains open for business.
That includes the Rogers Centre, where the Foo Fighters are scheduled to play a concert tonight.
10 people were killed and another 16 were hurt last April 23, when a white van drove down Yonge St. in the North York section of the city.
