The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) will hold a news conference in Montreal Wednesday to announce the results of the investigation into the plane crash two years ago that killed CJAD 800 political commentator and former Liberal federal cabinet minister Jean Lapierre.
Lapierre, his wife Nicole Beaulieu, as well as his sister and two brothers and the pilot and co-pilot died on March 28, 2016 when a Mitsubishi MU-2B-60 aircraft crashed near the airport on Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
The family was going to attend the funeral of Lapierre's father who had died the previous week.
A preliminary report from the TSB indicated that the plane was flying too fast and too high when it was attempting a landing using the auto-pilot.
