A 28 year old man shot in Montreal-North Friday evening has died from his injuries.
"Around 9PM, there were some 9-1-1 calls that were placed for gunshots that were heard near Sabrevois St. and des Récollets Ave. in Montreal-North. So, at the arrival of police officers, they located a man that was on the ground. he was, at least, shot once in the upper body", said Montreal police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant.
The victim was rushed to hospital, but died early Saturday morning. Police say the man was known to them but provided no further details, including whether any suspects had been apprehended.
Police have cordoned off an area bounded by Industriel, London, Fleury and des Récollets.
The murder is Montreal's second of the new year.
