The Quebec government has finally clarified the type of work that volunteers will be allowed to do in Quebec schools.
In a nutshell, painting is a go, plumbing, electrical work or carpentry will be a no-no.
The Labour Minister Dominique Vien was forced to intervene on the matter when the Quebec Construction Commission complained about a group of parents in the Montérégie who had got together earlier this year to carry out some repair work at their children's school.
The Commission cited safety issues saying the work should be performed by certified and paid professionals.
Vien says parents will only be allowed to perform work of a cosmetic nature.
