The family of a 94 year old Montreal woman is demanding answers from Urgences Sante.
It says the woman waited 8 hours for paramedics to respond after she fell in her bathroom.
Irene Piccione tells CTV Montreal her mom was in pain and says she called at least 4 times to find out when technicians were coming.
"At the end, she says I'm sore from head to toe. I tried to calm her down," says Piccione.
Urgences Sante says the call wasn't categorized as an emergency and blames an unusually high volume of calls for the delay.
The ambulance service says it needs a better triage system to determine which calls are a priority.
Grace Piccione is now recovering at the Lakeshore General Hospital while she waits for an evaluation.
