Laval police are warning citizens to keep their wallets close to their chest when dining out.
Investigators say a band of pickpockets have been roving through the territory, noting there have been more than 100 incidents in the past nine months.
In each case police say the suspects use the same tactic, dipping into people's easily accessible bags and coat pockets, usually hanging on the back of a chair at a restaurant.
Once they have someone's wallet they use whatever money, credit or bank cards are inside to make several purchases.
Anyone with information is asked to call Laval police at 450-662-INFO (4636) or 911 and mention file LVL 160225 057.
