Health officials in Quebec City say the prognosis for all five men injured in Sunday's mosque shooting is good, even the most critical cases.
The head of the trauma unit at the CHU-Quebec hospital network said at an update this morning that one patient went home yesterday while two others who are recovering will likely also be going home soon.
Dr. Julien Clément said more surgery is needed for the two people who suffered more critical injuries — they have gunshot wounds to their abdomen.
Clément said it's too early to discuss the long term impact on their health and recovery but that he's optimistic, noting the young age of the two patients.
The psycho-social services unit has been assisting people deal with psychological and post-traumatic stress and shock, with therapists and other specialists helping as many as 30 people so far and counting.
