A 16-year-old girl on a bike suffered serious injuries after she was struck by a car in Rosemont on Monday afternoon.
Montreal police say the collision happened at around 12:30 p.m. at the corner of St. Joseph Blvd. and 16th Ave.
Witnesses say the teen failed to make a mandatory stop at St. Joseph Blvd. The driver, who wasn't obliged to make a stop, was apparently unable to avoid the teen.
She was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries. Witnesses suggest she was not wearing a bike helmet.
The 59-year-old driver of the car, meanwhile, had to be treated for shock.

The car the 16-year-old cyclist hit has a big dent on the driver's side. Police investigating will see if the driver was speeding, if the cyclist stopped at the stop sign, etc. Cyclist was coming down 16th Ave which slopes down to St. Joseph. #CJAD800 pic.twitter.com/BKmvdPPuX2
