Two men have been arrested in connection with a crime with a bit of a Trailer Park Boys flavour — the theft of a half-million dollars' worth of beer, beef jerky and pepperoni from a Boucherville warehouse last month.
On Tuesday, police also recovered 11,000 cases of Grolsch beer in a warehouse on St. Patrick St. in LaSalle, out of the 20,000 that had been stolen.
There was no sign of the other 9,000 cases, or the beef jerky and pepperoni.
Longueuil police say on March 12, the thieves used three transport trucks to drive the goods out of the Boucherville warehouse, and across the river into Montreal. The trucks were found empty the next day.
Police had alleged the thieves had tried to sell their loot to store owners, and urged merchants to keep an eye out for anyone trying to sell the beer or processed meat.
It's unclear what charges the suspects will face.
