A City of Pointe-Claire worker had to be rescued and pulled ashore on Saturday after the snowplow he was driving fell through the ice and started sinking into Lac Saint Louis
He was reportedly clearing snow at the boat launch in Alexandre-Bourgeau Park near Lakeshore Rd. and Cartier Ave. when, around 5:30 p.m., the ice cracked beneath his machine.
The snowplow began sinking as it waded down the shoreline into deeper water.
Luckily, the worker was able to get himself onto the roof of the snowplow, and a rescue team was able to reach him.
The man was rushed to hospital as a preventative measure but it is believed he will be okay.
