You don't hear this too often in Quebec, but your school taxes could be about to drop.
The CAQ tabled its third bill today that follows through on another campaign promise, the one to harmonize school taxes across Quebec.
Rates at the moment are 3 times higher in some regions than in others, varying from as high as 31 cents per $100 property evaluation, to as low as 10 cents.
Premier Francois Legault says that's not fair and that this bill will put an end to that situation.
The bill would eventually see every homeowner in the province pay the same rate — the lowest current rate, 10 cents per $100 evaluation.
