Montreal police have arrested two men in connection with separate incidents on the metro system.
Police say on Tuesday, a 38-year-old man was arrested in connection with the pepper spray incident at Champ-de-Mars metro station on the morning of Jan. 9 which paralyzed three metro lines at the height of the morning rush hour.
Reports suggest the man may have used pepper spray in a fight with another transit user over a seat.
Also Tuesday, police arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a violent iPhone mugging on Sept. 24, 2018 on a metro train in the city's east end.
Police say at around 10:30 that morning, as an eastbound metro train was preparing to pull into the Pie-IX station, the man allegedly approached a transit user staring at his iPhone and kicked him in the face several times before making off with his iPhone 8.
Earlier this week, police released a photo of the suspect.
